An endemic species is one that is limited to a specific island or a small group of islands and can not be found anywhere else in the world
These species can spend their entire life cycle on an island or group of islands in particular, although they are not endemic.
These species depended on a human factor to reach a particular place and stay in it.
These species migrate between islands or to areas outside their usual region during certain seasons of the year.

eBird is an online program launched in 2002 by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society of the United States. The Puerto Rico Chapter is managed by Para La Naturaleza in collaboration with SOPI. The purpose of the program is to store lists of bird observations in real time, where you can also report and access information about birds sighted in your area.
